It Was Believed To Be The Home Of A Witch

The title for this comic is from “Swallowtail” by Elvenking – as you can imagine, I’ll be quoting that particular song a number of times as we move along here. I will have to write a blog post about my interpretation of the song and how it relates to my character of Swallowtail, because it’s somewhat ambiguous but raises a lot of interesting possibilities.

Anyway one of the points of this comic was to give you a bit of a tour of Swallowtail’s house, which I designed a while back. I would have preferred to draw some more dynamic angles and such to give you a better view, but it unfortunately proved too difficult for me at this stage – even moreso because I am running somewhat low on creativity at the moment. But still, the only room I skipped over was the kitchen, and the other rooms will be expanded upon in future comics too.

Okay now the big news: in just over a week from now (Nov. 26th) I’ll be hopping on a plane and heading over to Europe for a month. One of my sisters spent this year in England (her gap year, after finishing high school) and now that she’s done, we’re heading over to join her and visit a bunch of other places. Places such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Holland. I… I think that’s all of them? We’re taking a couple of guided tours, anyway. Like I said, we’ll be spending a month over there, and we’ll be arriving back in Australia on Xmas Eve.

So what does this mean for you, the theoretical reader of this comic? Well I am hoping to get one more comic done before I leave (a nice, easy, three-panel affair), and if I’ve got time after that, I might be able to queue up a few old comics to update automatically while I’m away. Assuming I can figure out how to do that, of course. I’m not sure how much internet access we’ll have over there, and how much time I’ll even want to spend on the internet anyway, but I will probably check in from time to time to ensure the site hasn’t been overrun by dolphins.

At any rate, I’ll let you know before I leave exactly what the deal will be, in terms of comics being posted while I’m gone.

One other thing: I forgot to mention this in the past couple of news posts but I drew a bonus comic on my liverjournal a few weeks ago. Those crazy botflies, am I right?

    Kodama! ^___________________^

Whoo, that’s a pretty intense boob-grab in the last panel!
Question – is Link going to be the wacky neighbour who keeps showing up for non-sequiturs and punchlines? Or that just a weird stain on the window. These are the only two options.

Have fun in foreign. Also, it should be pretty easy to set up auto-updates for older comics while you’re away I believe. If I recall correctly it’s simply a matter of future-dating the posts.

Oh don’t worry, Link is one of several instances of foreshadowing in this comic.

And yeah, I assume it will be fairly simple to cue up some comics, I just haven’t looked into it yet.
